The China Financial Fraud Research Center was established on April 15, 2017, jointly by Xiamen National Accounting College, the Department of Accounting at Xiamen University, Xiamen Tianjian Consulting Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Orient Fortune Investment Management Co., Ltd., and RSM China (formerly known as RSM Grant Thornton), among other council members.
Adopting an industry-academia-research integration strategy, the Center strives to embody a "five-fold combination" research approach: integrating theory with practice, finance with business operations, accounting data with big data technology, fraud detection with prevention, and academic research with real-world applications. It is committed to becoming China's most authoritative think tank on financial fraud research.
Since its inception, the Center has undertaken multiple national and provincial-level research projects, produced a series of academic achievements—including theoretical studies, case analyses, empirical research papers, and monographs—and submitted numerous fraud-related policy proposals and reports that have drawn regulatory and public attention, contributing to the formulation of regulatory policies.
