In October 2023, the Belt and Road Economic and Financial Capacity Building Platform, under the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance of China, was included in the List of Practical Cooperation Deliverables of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. This project is implemented by Xiamen National Accounting Institute jointly with Beijing National Accounting Institute and Shanghai National Accounting Institute. Specifically, the Platform is based on strengthening think tank research capacity, takes deepening policy communication capacity as a key focus, and aims to foster financial and economic talents' capacity. Through multi-dimensional financial and economic capacity building, it provides sustainable intellectual and talent support for the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and explores the establishment of an innovative model of “Financial and Economic Think Tank + Forum Exchange + High-End Training”.

‌Think Tank Research‌: Since its inception, the platform has produced intellectual outputs including the XNAI Financial and Economic Research, White Paper on Investment and Financing under the Belt and Road Initiative, Accounting Services Trade Development Report, continuously enhancing evidence-based decision-making for financial connectivity.

‌Forum Exchanges‌: The platform has been continuously facilitating the brand development of institutionalized international exchange activities, such as the Belt and Road National Accounting Standards Cooperation Forum, Asia-Pacific Integrity and Compliance Forum, and Asia Evaluation Week, making contributions to policy communication across all levels.

‌High-end Training‌: It has provided financial courses covering fiscal and tax management, green finance, cross-border e-payment, ESG and sustainable development, and digital economy governance to over 2,000 trainees from more than 60 countries across ASEAN, Central Asia, Africa, and Latin America. By fostering financial and economic talents, it lays a foundation for people-to-people connectivity among Belt and Road Initiative partner countries (hereinafter referred to as "BRI partner countries").

As high-quality Belt and Road cooperation increasingly demands financial capacity building, the platform will implement its tripartite strategy of "strengthening the foundation with think tanks, building bridges through exchanges, and boosting industries with talents" to create a more open financial cooperation ecosystem.
